Launches #TWEET4TRUTH Campaign to Call for Investigation
Today, Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, called on the nation’s news media to thoroughly investigate the White House’s cover-up of the details related to the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Stevens and three other brave Americans in Benghazi, Libya.
In the weeks following the deaths, extensive conspiracy theories, rumors and misinformation have filled news reports that paint a devastating picture of an inept and thoughtless Administration that allowed these brave individuals to be killed by al-Qaeda while U.S. forces were ordered to “stand-down.”
“It is time for our government to honor the Constitution which ‘determined that the power of knowledge should be placed in the hands of the people,’” said Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, quoting a U.S. Embassy web site. “Tea Party Patriots is demanding that the White House release any and all emails, audio tapes, video tapes, transcripts or other documents that will provide clarity of the timeline that led to this tragedy. It is becoming abundantly clear that the nation’s television networks and other news media outlets are actively engaged in a cover-up of this incident on behalf of this White House. We are calling on them to put aside politics and to do their job, fulfilling their duty as journalists to provide the American people with the facts.”

“This entire event is an affront to our Constitution, the American people and a slap in the face to the families of the brave Americans who died in Benghazi,” said Martin.
