The Republican Party of Virginia SCC (State Central Committee) voted today to hold a primary instead of a nominating convention for 2016. This also means that Virginia’s ultimate republican candidate could win the nomination with only a fraction of the vote, since there will be so many candidates running. The winning candidate could end up with < 20% of the vote. It's worthy to note that the SCC members voted to have the final vote via secret ballot, so that they could vote against a convention and have no one know how they voted. Transparency isn't just dead at the federal level.
