Charlottesville, VA – August 26, 2012

*On Wednesday, August 29 begining at 12:00 noon, the Jefferson Area Tea
Party will host its “Oust Obama Rally” in Charlottesville’s Lee Park (one
block north of the Downtown Mall, between Jefferson St., 1st St. N.E.,
Market St., and 2nd St. N.E.). Map here:

* *

*This is a counter-rally to coincide with the announced appearance of
President Barack Obama at the NTELOS Wireless Pavilion on the Downtown Mall
that same afternoon.*

* *

*Featured speakers include Bishop E.W. Jackson (at 1:00 p.m.), Delegate Rob
Bell, and local radio talk show hosts Rob Schilling and Joe Thomas.
Issues planned for discussion include the 42 consecutive months of national
unemployment over 8% (and what is called the “real” unemployment rate of
15%), the $5.2T of national debt accumulated during the short Obama
presidency, the failed stimulus plan and our weakest economic recovery in
65 years, the looming disastrous consequences of Obamacare, the massive
growth of the size and overreach of the Federal government, and much more.
*

* *

*Together, these items will make the case why Americans should go to the
polls on November 6 and peacefully “oust” President Obama by voting to
deny him a second term in office.*

* *

*We have tentative plans for live remote radio broadcasts on The Schilling
Show with host Rob Schilling (beginning at 12:00 noon on 1070-AM WINA) and
The Afternoon Constitutional with host Joe Thomas (beginning at 3:00 p.m. on
107.5-FM WCHV).*

* *

*The rally is free and open to the public and the media.  You don’t have to
be a tea party member to attend.  We encourage everyone to bring a beverage
and a blanket or folding chair, along with flags and signs.*

* *

*Parking in the downtown area is expected to be extremely limited so we
encourage attendees to plan early arrival in the park by 11:00 a.m.*

* *

*Please note that while the JATP champions free speech, we strongly
discourage incivility.  Respectful discourse is expected and respectful
signs are welcome – but we reserve the right to request removal of any
signs we deem obscene or insulting. *

*About The Jefferson Area Tea Party*
The Jefferson Area Tea Party (JATP) is Central Virginia’s largest tea party
organization.  Located in Charlottesville, Virginia and founded in early
2009, its philosophy and political agenda is to lead the fight to restore
the legacy of this area’s two most famous residents: Thomas Jefferson,
author of the Declaration of Independence, and James Madison, the Father of
the Constitution.  The JATP frequently hosts educational and candidate
forums, rallies, and special events – and welcomes participation among all
area patriots.

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. They are the only sure
reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”  – Thomas Jefferson
