female doctor thumbs downAmericans for Prosperity (AFP) is having a rally on August 19th to oppose any expansion of Medicaid in Virginia (and rights-reducing Obamacare, generally). Unfortunately for all VA taxpayers, expanding Medicaid will only result in higher taxes for all, once the federal government “sugar” runs out after the initial implementation. And let’s state the obvious fact…all federal dollars are really just borrowed from your children and grandchildren…the federal government is broke.

Please help us protect Virginia taxpayers and safeguard your children’s economic future by attending this rally in downtown Richmond. We NEED YOU THERE to counter the voices that will undoubtedly be there in an attempt to create a false sense of “majority support” for expanding “entitlement” programs. Can we count on you?

The legislative super committee is scheduled to meet again next month and decide whether or not to implement Obamacare and expand Medicaid in Virginia. When they met last month, over 250 Americans for Prosperity activists along with coalition partners shocked the political establishment by packing the meeting – a meeting where nobody was allowed to provide testimony. This time public testimony is encouraged…

We can stop a key part of Obamacare from coming to Virginia…

I don’t know about you, but I am frustrated with many of our politicians who aren’t fighting hard enough to oppose Obamacare implementation and Medicaid expansion. They know that Medicaid is broken. They know that expanding this government program could lead to higher death rates and doctor shortages…

SCHEDULE IN RICHMOND

  1. Go through Security  GEN ASSEMBLY BUILDING
  2. Report to 5TH FLOOR EAST CONFERENCE ROOM to register & pick up your buttons, etc. (opens at 10:30 AM)
  3. While in the building you can get beverages and snacks at the  6TH floor cafeteria any  time 
  4. We suggest you have a plastic bottle on you to refill with water
  5. 12 PM – All participants are to rally at BELL TOWER in front of building to make a statement
  6. 1 PM – All participants then report to SENATE ROOM B for the 1 PM MIRC MEETING

If you drive yourself, parking choices include St. Paul’s Episcopal Church public parking, across from the Bell Tower at N. 8th between Grace & Franklin streets for a fee. Parking is at a premium in Richmond.
