Virginians for Quality Healthcare, along with the Independent Women’s Network and Fairfax Free Citizen, sponsored a forum with five healthcare experts addressing Market Alternatives to Obamacare on May 8 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Old Town in Alexandria, VA.
More than 150 people attended the event. The 5 healthcare experts who participated in the forum included

- Delegate Mark Berg, M.D. (R-VA 29th District)
- Hadley Heath, Senior Policy Analyst, Independent Women’s Voice
- C.L.Gray, M.D., Physicians for Reform

Mr. Tom McDevitt, the Chairman of the Board for The Washington Times, served as the forum moderator.
In a series of posts over the next several days, the Fairfax Free Citizen will present a summary of each expert’s comments. The first summary in this series covered the presentation by Congressman Tom Price, a Republican Congressman from Georgia and a medical doctor himself.
The second summary in this series covers the presentation by Virginia Delegate Mark Berg, a Republican representing the 29th District and a medical doctor.
Delegate Berg addressed the topic of health record misuse and possible abuse that is part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PP/ACA – aka “Obamacare”). He started by pointing out the ACA grants widespread discretion to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) as to what reporting requirements she can levy on physicians and patients.
