My General Practitioner (GP) doctor in Reston announced he is dumping 1,400 patients and retaining 600 with a front-end annual $1,650 payment. His partner just retired, so his patients are looking for another doctor also.
I paid the new fee. That payment for Concierge Care is not reimbursable under insurance. However, Representative Dr. Tom Price’s bill HR2300 provides for such payments. Those 1,400 patients will have great difficulty finding a new GP. It took one healthy 45-year old woman I know who moved here a year ago and was working for a back surgeon nine months to find a GP in Fairfax County. Many doctors, including some of mine, will not take new Medicare and Medicaid patients. One county in VA does not have any medical doctors….continued
