Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation Members Declare December 7th Protest Locations and Messages

(Richmond, VA) –  Member groups of the Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation (VTP), a coalition of over 40 independent tea party groups in Virginia, are holding a double protest in Downtown Richmond on Wednesday, December 7th, starting at 1:00 p.m.

The first protest will commence at 1:00 p.m. on Bank Street between 9th and 10th streets.  This protest is directed against the Virginia AP and Virginia Capitol Correspondents Association for sponsoring a non-inclusive U.S. Senate debate at the Capitol, and making the egregious error of attempting to pre-ordain the Democrat and Republican U.S. Senate candidates some six months before the June 12, 2012 Senate Primary. Seven other U.S, Senate 2012 candidates were not invited to the debate being held at the Capitol on Wednesday afternoon.

The second protest will take place starting at 2:00 p.m. in front of Richmond City Hall.  Tea Party group members from around Virginia will be joining the Richmond Tea Party in their high-visibility protest effort to seek equal treatment under the law concerning a reimbursement request totaling $8,543 for past rallies directed to the City of Richmond that was met with zero reimbursement and a tax audit.  As part of the protest, Richmond Tea Party spokesperson, Colleen Owens, will deliver a copy of the U.S. Constitution to the Richmond Mayor’s office and ask if Mayor D.C. Jones has ever read the U.S. Constitution.

The following Virginia Tea Party groups support the dual protests on December 7th:

Chester Patriots

Richmond Tea Party

912 Richmond

Just Liberty

Fauquier Tea Party

Fredericksburg Virginia Patriots

Shenandoah Valley Tea Party Patriots
