F-35 “Alternate Engine” Vote

By |2019-05-11T16:12:49-04:00February 15th, 2011|Categories: Blog|Tags: , , , , , |

Call Your congressman and tell them that in this time of economic fraud/waste/abuse that we don't need more. Much has also been made of the threat of engine-related groundings. In fact, there are no documented instances of fleet-wide groundings in the past 30 years. Such talk is a scare tactic. In addition, an alternate engine won’t help the industrial base. GE is the largest military engine manufacturer with sole-source positions on the F/A-18 and several thousand Black Hawks and Apaches. [...]

By |2019-05-11T16:12:50-04:00February 15th, 2011|Categories: Blog|Tags: , |

There is a war even within "conservatism", it surrounds spending cuts for the Military. Sometimes trimming the fat can be a good thing. Just ask Oprah. In all seriousness, isn't it time we look long and hard at spending cuts for the military? If we are serious about getting rid of fraud/waste/abuse in government then we can't leave out one of the largest budget items on the list. Currently the Military is debating the "alternate engine" for the F-35. A [...]

The Case for HB 2470: The Virginia Atmospheric Sovereignty Act

By |2019-05-11T16:12:50-04:00February 7th, 2011|Categories: Legislative|

Last week, the house held a hearing on HB 2470 and referred the bill out to another committee, knowing that such an action would effectively table the bill for consideration this year. The bill prevents the regulation of carbon dioxide emissions in the Commonwealth of Virginia by any agency (federal or state). Virginia Scientists and Engineers for Energy and Environment (VA-SEEE) enthusiastically endorses this bill for the following reasons; 1.) There is no scientific basis to regulate CO2, and 2.) [...]

The machine is moving full speed ahead to get this absurd transportation package rushed through. The fools that have been elected seem to think we are stupid. That we don't notice the revolving sales pitch that hits us every legislative session. " The Sky is falling, If you don't support this bill the end of the world will be upon us".
