MoveOn.org “American Dream” Rally for Union “Solidarity”

By |2019-05-11T16:12:49-04:00March 1st, 2011|Categories: News, Videos|Tags: |

This past Saturday, MoveOn.org and SEIU planned to have 1000 union members descend on Richmond to show their “solidarity” to the members of the union workers in Wisconsin occupying the state capitol building. Best laid plans being what they are, only around 150 people showed up. I say people rather than union members because most of the attendees were not in a union. No, they were your average everyday supporters of MoveOn.org and simply got an email telling them to [...]

Mark Obenshain: Update on the Legislative Session

By |2019-05-11T16:12:49-04:00February 28th, 2011|Categories: Blog|Tags: |

With the clock ticking down to zero, however, it looks like we're going into overtime. We will take up a few bills in conference today, but the budget towers over every other consideration, and if we don't finish today, we will be back soon to get the job done. For now, I would like to use [...]

It was a masterful statement and a bravura performance. Congressman Hurt demonstrated a firm command of the devastating statistics which add up to our nation's crisis, clearly laid out [...]

HB 1721, which would make Urban Development Areas optional rather than mandatory, was defeated in the Senate today, but not without a lot of drama! F-35 “Alternate Engine” Vote

By |2019-05-11T16:12:49-04:00February 15th, 2011|Categories: Blog|Tags: , , , , , |

Call Your congressman and tell them that in this time of economic fraud/waste/abuse that we don't need more. Much has also been made of the threat of engine-related groundings. In fact, there are no documented instances of fleet-wide groundings in the past 30 years. Such talk is a scare tactic. In addition, an alternate engine won’t help the industrial base. GE is the largest military engine manufacturer with sole-source positions on the F/A-18 and several thousand Black Hawks and Apaches. [...]
